SoCal Karts employs some of the top karting coaches in the U.S.! All our coaches are former or current professional race car drivers and lead/monitor all our karting experiences.

These instructors will teach you the fundamentals of karting and will work with your party to ensure everyone understands how to safely operate our vehicles. Our team has worked with and taught professional racers such as Cole Herta, _, and _ and will teach you the skills needed to become a professional racer!

    Scott Atchinson

    Scott Atchison officially began racing motorcycles at age 12 in the Mojave desert. At 17 he earned first motorcycle championship. He Raced his first Baja 1000 at age 17. Competed in the CART IndyCar World Series in 1988 and 1989.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS

    • Known for his Baja racing career as a factory rider for Team Honda, BMW, and Kawasaki
    • Recorded 10 – Baja 1000 and Baja 500 victories
    • 1st place Vet Pro class win at the SCORE Baja 2000
    • Named the SCORE Overall Motorcycle Champion in 1995

    In October of 2021, Tim was inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. He was recognized by his peers for his 100% finishing rate with his rental racer support, for his contribution to off road racing by coaching new racers to success, his winning race record as a factory Honda, Kawasaki and BMW racer and team manager, and his tireless efforts to generously give back to the people of Baja, Mexico.

Safety Team

We Take Safetyvery seriously!

SoCal Karts never expects accidents to happen, but we are always prepared if they do. All of our kart experiences are led and closely monitored by professional driving coaches that will ensure the safety of all drivers.

Drivers are taught to safety operate our karts before they begin to race, and we have multiple safety precautions in place. Plus, our facility is well-equipped to handle any issues.

We are also located just 29 miles from the nearest hospital in Bakersfield, and in the event of an emergency, our staff is trained to assist until medical professionals arrive.
